Peter Tunney, Skull Etchings

The above image is the original mixed media art work by Peter Tunney, I chose the most difficult "Skull Session" piece to use for the etching. This piece was used for Peter's Skull  Session book that  was released earlier this year.The original size was 30" x 40"

This is the image I modified to 100% black and white to accommodate the metal etching process. I added a vignette as it really makes the finished product "Pop".

Here is a photo of the finished etching done on marine grade stainless steel.

The size is a whopping 48" x 58". I f you may be interested this particular work is now available directly through Lewis-Horn LLC. 

Check out the details on the edge burnt book pages, all the copy is legible. The three layers of art were achieved through a five step process.

 The final touch of course is Peter's signature.

This rendition of a photo taken at a live performance in 1972 captures the turbulence and energy of

an Iggy Pop concert, it's momentum captured in stainless steel into solid motion.
Mick said that when he shot his first Iggy Pop show he felt like a big game hunter.

This stunning image is a Lewis-Horn LLC interpretation of an out take image from Mick's Pinups shoot with David Bowie in 1973.

It was decided between us it should be kept as clean and classic as Bowie's image and music.

  Mick Rock at Art Basel Miami with Avant Gallery. The Mick Rock/ Lewis-Horn exhibit will be on December 9th 2012.

Posted above are the two images we will be exhibiting along with five pieces from Rock's "Legend" series and five of his classic prints.

These two images are Christian Lewis' variations of Mick's photography, Lewis-Horn are producing a very limited run of two each, images are etched into Marine Grade stainless steel,

 infilled with baked polyurethane and signed by Mick Rock and Christian Lewis.

The pieces will be available through Avant Gallery, Miami.
